Ana’s Green is a classic example of a first-flush spring green tea picked in the Maipokhari Hills of Ilam. It is a quintessential tea that beautifully represents the taste of Nepal. Its gently rolled leaves and vibrant liquor have notes of artichoke, zucchini, steamed spinach, and hints of steamed spinach and artichoke hearts. It can be enjoyed every day, hot or iced.
Anna’s Green is a tea typical of the region of Maipokhari Hills of the Ilam District of Nepal. The leaves are plucked early in the season and only the tender and succulent leaves are selected for this preparation. Where ever possible High elevation plantations with wet soils facing the Himalayas are selected for this purpose. The leaves are then immediately de-enzyme and then cooled for over 1-2 hours. The leaves are then rolled to give an initial tempering and cooled again for 30 minutes. Thereafter they are shaped in a shaping machine and then dried in an oven.
One heaping teaspoon per 8 ounce cup. Cool boiling water for 3 minutes, then steep tea 1 - 2 minutes.
